2nd eWaste Day at TDM was a huge success!

3,443 pounds of electronic waste not headed to landfill which included 86 hard drives shredded.

At CVC Location:

There were approximately 16 volunteers that helped with the setup, processing , technical support and tear-down. And we filled approximately 12 crates and wrapped up and additional 4 pallet of equipment.

At Chicago Modification Center:

There were 4 volunteers that helped with setup, processing, tech support and tear-down.

There were 14 people that brought a variety of equipment that filled 1 crate with computers, 1 box with cables and wires, and 1 pallet with a 65” TV. None of this equipment will go to a land fill, it will all head off for recycling.

TDM held its first eWaste days on June 11th & 18th, 2013 at their two facilities in Redford Michigan. Employees were encouraged to bring in unwanted electronics, cables, televisions, and other related items from home. TDM partnered with a local company, GEEP Recycling, to make certain the items would be recycled and/or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. The weather worked out really well on both days and the turn-out was fantastic. The following metric describes the amounts and types of items that were brought in. eWaste day - Troy Design and Manufacturing

TDM is planning at least one more event this summer at their Warren plant and also has plans to make this an annual recurrence.
